Bringing forth the Bodhi resolve in the Bodhimandala (Way-place)

The state of Thus Come One is incomparable.

Using various Dharma-doors, he constantly benefits all.

A Dharma assembly.
At the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas, monks and nuns follow the Buddha's instruction of eating only one meal a day at noon and always wearing their sashes. They observe the monastic precepts, while the lay community in the City observes the five precepts. Everybody cultivates with the six great principles as their guideline. A typical day in the City starts at 3:30 am when the wooden boards are hit to wake people up. Morning recitation begins at 4:00 am and is followed by bowing, meditation, and Avatamsaka Sutra recitation. The meal offering ceremony is at 10:30 am. The afternoon schedule includes the Great Compassion Repentance, evening recitation, a Sutra lecture, and Mantra Heart recitation. The boards are hit again at 10:30 pm to signal the end of the day. Between scheduled ceremonies, people find time to do community work, or dedicate themselves to translating Sutras, teaching in schools, and propagating the Dharma. This tight and busy schedule trains people to have true knowledge and views and develops their talent in propagating the Dharma.
Regardless of whether you recite the Buddha's name, hold mantras, keep the precepts, expound the teachings, or sit in Chan meditation, the goal is to focus the mind on a single point, to cast out the false and retain the true. At all times, look within yourself and recognize your original face. This is the method to use at the initial stages of practice.
