A Note from the Editor For the past twenty years, the Venerable Master, undaunted by obstacles and hardships, blazed a trail for living beings of the Dharma Realm and established a pure, vast, and splendid public Way-place. The Master said, "All alone, I could never handle so many matters." And so as the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas developed, many left-home and lay disciples followed the Master's spirit of dedication to the Dharma and did their best to contribute their efforts. Although the Master has gone, the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas continues to honor his instructions. The left-home people strictly follow the tradition of eating only one meal a day and always wearing their precept sash. Everyone strives to honestly cultivate and to follow the Six Guiding Principles: no fighting, no greed, no seeking, no selfishness, no pursuit of personal gain, and no lying. May the four assemblies of disciples unite and work together to propagate the Buddhadharma and to manage well the elementary and secondary schools and the university, so that we can produce outstanding leaders who can guide and influence the world. May the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas always be a shining lamp in the universe, guiding living beings onto the bright path to Bodhi. |
