City of Ten Thousand Buddhas Announcement (Updated 11/17/2020)
Ten months have passed since the onset of COVID-19, and the disease has become increasingly widespread. Mendocino County, where the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas is located, has continued to be in the high risk tier- Purple [1]. This means CTTB is still very vulnerable to the COVID-19 spread. As of November 16, 2020, there are 1,311 cases tested positive, and 22 deaths due to COVID-19 in Mendocino County [2]. To date, there have been no known cases of COVID-19 at CTTB.
In the midst of hardship and difficulties, CTTB hopes the Buddhadharma can continue to be our guide and the refuge for all living beings. We realize that people have not been able to visit the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas for a very long time. Our first priority is protecting those who are most vulnerable. Out of consideration for everyone’s health, CTTB will remain closed for the time being. CTTB would plan to open to the public when it would be safe to do so. CTTB will continue to dedicate our ceremonies and cultivation to all those in need. We encourage you to join our events online. Please visit: http://www.drbachinese.org/DRBA-online-schedule.pdf
If you wish to make an offering to the Three Jewels or to set up a Rebirth or Long Life Plaques (not for a Dharma session), please contact the CTTB Donation Department at: [email protected], or call the CTTB Administration Office at: (707) 462-0939 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Stay safe. Namo Amitabha Buddha!
